Juniper
I’ve tried some REN products more than a year ago and had an extra 25ml tube of their Jojoba Micro Bead Purifying Facial Scrub in my storage. I looked for it because I’ve run out of facial scrub and haven’t replenished so this is from my emergency stash.
REN was introduced in Malaysia a few years ago, its selling point being its formulation with 100% natural active ingredients and avoidance of harmful substances such as petrochemicals, sulfates, parabens, propylene glycol, etc.
Their Jojoba Micro Bead Purifying Scrub is appropriately named as the exfoliating beads or granules are really micro and that makes it quite a gentle scrub. The recommended usage is 2-3 times a week.
With the oils of juniper, jojoba and peppermint, this scrub gives a slight cooling and soothing sensation. However, I have been using it more than 3 times a week and I believe it has made my skin break out on the chin and near my lower lip. I’ll have to reduce the usage to twice a week.
It’s actually quite a good scrub and comes in a 150ml pump bottle which is a lot for RM130. I’m not sure how many REN counters there are in the Klang Valley as I called what used to be their counter at Escentuals, Tangs Pavilion to check the price and was informed that they are no longer there. I obtained the price from their counter at Metrojaya MidValley.
