Ordering Peranakan dishes from an a la carte menu can be quite pricey so a Peranakan buffet is value-for-money
One of my all-time favourite local cuisines is Peranakan as the taste is rich and unique. You know just from the first bite that a lot of time and effort has gone into crafting each dish, not to mention the amount of different ingredients that make up the complex flavours.
Whether you are a fan of Nyonya Rendang Daging, Ayam Masak Pong Teh, Nyonya Ayam Kapitan, Itik Sio, Popiah Basah, Kueh Pie Tee and many other Peranakan dishes, check out The Mesh @ Four Points KLCC’s Peranakan Weekend Lunch Buffet. Available only on Saturdays between 1230 – 3pm, this wonderful array of Peranakan dishes is priced at RM168 nett (Adults) & RM84 nett (Child).

Itek Sio is Peranakan Braised Duck, this isn’t widely available. It’s slowly braised in soya sauce and tamarind so you can expect a rich flavour.

Inchi Kabin Fried Chicken is aromatic, marinated with a blend of spices and fried to golden perfection.

Nyonya Rendang Daging is slow cooked in a blend of spices and coconut milk with a touch of kaffir leaf.

Udang Assam is deep fried and has a tangy taste thanks to the tamarind it’s cooked in.

I do love mustard vegetable soup as the sour taste with the mustard leaves is really delicious and hearty.
Much as I enjoyed the mains, the desserts are the star of the buffet.

You have to save some room for dessert here as the cakes (yes, all the cakes) are seriously good. I have to mention the best are the Baba White Coffee Cheesecake and Cendol Cake.
