The Malaysia Autoshow has officially embarked on a groundbreaking new chapter, launching its first-ever regional showcase today at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC). By bringing the nation’s premier automotive experience to the Northern Corridor, the Penang Autoshow 2026 signifies a strategic commitment to making the future of sustainable mobility remains accessible to all Malaysians.
Organized by Moonman Events and endorsed by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), the event represents a regional expansion that is designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge automotive technology and the passionate automotive community in the north, fostering greater industry participation and consumer engagement.

A Strategic Move for Regional Connectivity
The decision to host the autoshow in Penang is both strategic and symbolic. As a vital pillar of Malaysia’s industrial and manufacturing ecosystem, Penang provides the ideal backdrop to showcase the rapid transformation of the automotive sector. The event serves as a platform to highlight Penang’s pivotal role in the semiconductor, electronics, and precision engineering sectors technologies that are now at the very core of modern mobility, from electric vehicles (EV) components to connected vehicle systems.
“Today marks an important step in the evolution of the Malaysia Autoshow as we bring the experience to Pulau Pinang, making it more accessible to communities and industry players in the Northern Corridor. As an extension of the biennial Malaysia Autoshow at MAEPS, this regional edition allows us to expand our reach in the absence of the main show this year, while continuing to strengthen engagement and public access to the future of mobility”. said Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of MARii.

Innovation Meets the Public
The Penang Autoshow 2026 is far more than a static exhibition, it is an immersive experience. Visitors are invited to explore a sprawling showcase featuring over 50 exhibitors. A major highlight is the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) display, showcasing more than 40 of the latest models, including six exclusive model previews. The Autoshow also features a dedicated 4.8-kilometer test drive route—a signature feature that has always been the hallmark of the Malaysia Autoshow experience, allowing visitors to evaluate vehicle performance, comfort, and handling firsthand.
“This event reflects our commitment to staying relevant in the global automotive transition. It serves as a bridge between Penang’s strengths and international innovation, ensuring that the Northern Corridor remains competitive and attractive for investment. Simply put, this is not just about cars. It is about shaping our place in the next phase of mobility,” said YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Pulau Pinang, in his officiating speech.
