Miru 1day UpSide
Menicon Groupy officially introduced its Miru contact lens range in Malaysia at The Starhill, marking a significant milestone as the company celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1951, Menicon is Japan’s first and largest contact lens manufacturer, guided by its philosophy of “Creation, Originality, Challenge” in its pursuit of providing better vision.
The launch introduces three clear lens options tailored to different lifestyle needs, reflecting the growing demand among Malaysians for practical, fuss-free vision solutions that complement work, travel and active routines.

For everyday routines, Miru 1day UpSide (registered under Act 737, GB10835424-186078, MDAMD0222/2025) focuses on comfort and hygienic handling, supporting long hours of wear whether at work, during social engagements or while staying active.
Miru 1day Flat Pack (registered under Act 737, GB6893125-208088, MDAMD0218/2025) is designed with convenience in mind, featuring compact, slim packaging that fits easily into handbags, gym pouches or travel kits, making it ideal for those constantly on the move.
Completing the range, Miru 1 Month (registered under Act 737, GB3372324-188114, MDAMD0182/2025) offers a monthly replacement option suited for individuals who prefer a longer wear cycle as part of their regular routine.
Together, the Miru range is centred on a simple idea: clear contact lenses should fit seamlessly into modern life, giving wearers the confidence to move through their day with ease.
“With Miru, we are introducing options that cater to different lifestyles while staying true to Menicon’s longstanding commitment to innovation and quality. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we remain focused on delivering better vision solutions and encouraging responsible lens wear through consultation with eye care professionals ,” said Mr Remco Engelhart, Executive Officer of International Business Head Office, Menicon Co., Ltd.
“Malaysians today juggle multiple roles throughout the day, from work commitments to fitness and travel. We see growing interest in contact lenses that feel comfortable, easy to handle and convenient to carry. The introduction of Miru in Malaysia gives consumers more choice depending on how they live and what suits their daily needs” said Ms. Emily Wong, General Manager of Menicon Vision Care, Malaysia.

Menicon’s presence in Malaysia continues to grow, supported by plans for a new manufacturing facility at Kulim Hi-Tech Park with a total approved investment of RM1 billion. The facility is set to become one of Menicon’s most advanced manufacturing sites globally, integrating production, logistics, warehousing and quality control within a digitally connected ecosystem to support the production of silicone hydrogel contact lenses.
The Miru range is available in Malaysia through selected optical stores and authorised eye care professionals nationwide. Recommended retail pricing starts from RM150 to RM180 for a daily disposable wearer, and RM300 to RM360 for a full-month pack, depending on individual lens requirements.
Consumers are advised to consult an eye care professional for fitting and guidance before using contact lenses. All Menicon products are registered under Act 737 and Medical Device Authority (MDA).
