Selangor and Federal Territory Advertising Association First ‘2025 Gold Award And Recognition Ceremony’ Was Successfully Held, Promoting The Advertising And Signage Industry In Malaysia Towards Innovation And Professionalism

The ‘Malaysia Advertising Sign Awards 2025 & Appreciation Night,’ organized by the Selangor and Federal Territory Advertisers Association (Persatuan Pengiklan-Pengiklan Selangor dan Wilayah Persekutuan, PPSWP), was grandly held last Saturday at the New Ocean World Ballroom in Petaling Jaya, bringing together over 400 industry peers and guests to witness a historic moment in Malaysia’s advertising signage industry.

In her welcome speech, Pan Lishi, the conference chair and chairman of the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Advertising Association, stated that advertising signs are not just tools for commercial communication but also the soul of urban aesthetics. She emphasized, ‘The establishment of the Gold Award is to make these efforts visible. We want to recognize companies and professionals who excel in design creativity, production craftsmanship, and brand aesthetics. We want the public to understand that advertising signs are not merely plaques but a combination of creativity, craftsmanship, and responsibility.’

She also specifically mentioned that during this year’s conference, the guild gave special recognition to three senior members who continue to uphold traditional crafts, highlighting that even amid the industry’s rapid transformation, there are still people contributing to and preserving Malaysia’s streetscapes and advertising industry.

Petaling Jaya Member of Parliament and member of the Parliamentary Special Committee on Economics and Finance, Lee Chean Chung, was invited to deliver a speech at the conference. He first congratulated the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Advertising Association on successfully hosting the awards ceremony, and also praised the association for taking the lead in setting industry trends and recognizing and honoring those who quietly work in the advertising industry and achieve breakthroughs in technology. In his speech, he also promised: ‘I hope that under my coordination, the advertising industry can communicate more with local governments, so as to better understand the challenges and difficulties faced by industry players, as well as the prospects of the entire industry.’

He also hopes that the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Advertising Association will continue to uphold the spirit of ‘unity, professionalism, and innovation,’ becoming a pillar of the advertising industry and an important force in driving the country towards a creative economy.

Bukit Gasing state assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakarann, also expressed appreciation for the efforts of advertisers during his speech, saying that every company needs the efforts, innovation, and creativity of the advertising industry, as it serves as the face of a company or industry.

Dato’ Ho Tak Jun, Vice President of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Malaysia (Heng Zong), said that as the recognized and judging body of this conference, Heng Zong firmly believes that for an industry to achieve sustainable development, it must have clear and explicit standards, strong professional recognition, and a continuous influx of new talent. Therefore, he is convinced that the Gold Award is not only a recognition of honor but also a new motivation to inspire young people to join this industry.

The inaugural “Gold Award” not only received the support of advertisers from the Klang Valley, but also attracted participants from Sarawak, Malacca, and Johor. This event presented a total of 16 awards, recognizing companies and individuals who excelled in design creativity, production craftsmanship, and brand aesthetics. Among the awardees were three veterans who still uphold traditional crafts: Li Wenxiu, who specializes in vacuum forming; Nan Ge, who works in metal etching; and Kong Jianfu, a neon light artisan.

They also expressed that current technological and material innovations have long caused their craftsmanship to be overlooked. Therefore, they hope to use this platform to find people who are willing to learn and carry on their skills.

The awards ceremony was star-studded, with distinguished guests in attendance including: Permanent Honorary Advisor of the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Advertising Association, Wang Deshun; Honorary President, Wu Ling’an; Dato’ Ye Tianhai; Assistant Secretary of the Non-Malay Wing of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Zeng Yongqiang; Judges: Deputy Director of Darshan Art Academy, Zheng Weifeng, and others.

This awards ceremony also wishes to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors, including H&H PRODUCTION SDN BHD, DELUXE FOOD & BEVERAGE, APACHE COMMUNICATION, KL TEAM WORKS BUILDER, OVOL MALAYSIA SDN BHD, and SWEETKISS.

This edition of the “Gold Award” is not only an industry-first accolade but also an important step taken by the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Advertising Association to unify industry strength and enhance public awareness. By recognizing outstanding works, preserving the craftsmanship spirit, and promoting innovative thinking, the event has set a new benchmark for the advertising sign industry in Malaysia.
