Who doesn’t love durians? I admit I don’t but I’ll eat it if offered. It’s not my favourite fruit though and not even in my Top 10 list of favourite fruits but when the opportunity to visit DurianBB Academy came, I was set to go with my media friends.
DurianBB Academy is Malaysia’s first immersive durian-themed education hub designed for curious minds of all ages. Embark on a guided durian farm tour and uncover secrets of the orchard — from durian tree annual rings and parasitic plants, to a live demonstration of how durians are tied up high in the trees.

Have a blast at their durian-themed carnival, featuring motion-sensor claw machines and fun games where you can win exclusive DurianBB premium gifts.
Interact:
Be wowed by their Durian Science Magic Show, then meet and snap photos with your favorite DurianBB character mascots.

Join the DurianBB Masterclass, discover fascinating durian fun facts and myths, and enjoy a guided tasting session with freshly harvested durians.
Upon arrival, we are whisked to the farm where we are taken on a short tour to view the orchard and here we get to see the flowering trees which will bear fruit in 3 months. After that, we get to play some carnival games and win exclusive merchandise but the games aren’t that easy. They may look deceptively simple but before you know it, your coins are finished and you may end up empty-handed. However, it’s all for fun.
Next, into another (cooler) section where the Durian Science Magic Show will dazzle children and adults alike. The mascots are there for photo opportunities. Next up is the Durian Masterclass where they explain in detail about all kinds of durians. Then the part everyone is looking forward to – tasting freshly harvested durians. Everyone goes home with a graduation certificate and there’s durian gelato tasting too.
