Herbalife Nutrition Foundation Continues Commitment To Improving Nutrition Of Children In Need

Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF), a non-profit organization committed to providing good nutrition and nutrition education to children in need, recently awarded its partners under the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program with annual grants totalling approximately RM450,000 (USD 98,100).

Benefitting close to 300 children, the recipients consist of five charitable homes, namely Good Samaritan Home in Klang, Hope Mission Welfare Society in Teluk Intan, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Amitabha Malaysia in Johor Bahru, Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim / Miskin Rukaiyah in Kajang, and Yayasan Chow Kit in Kuala Lumpur.

Since 2005, through the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation has been partnering with charity organisations globally to bring good nutrition to children in need, ensuring their good development and changing the lives of children all over the world.

A mock cheque ceremony was recently held to present the grants during Herbalife Malaysia’s Member Development Weekend. Present at the ceremony, Steven Chin, Senior Director and General Manager of Herbalife Malaysia and Singapore, said, “We believe access to proper nutrition, education, and a safe living environment plays a vital role to support a child’s growth and development. The generosity and unwavering support from our distributors played a crucial role in making these contributions to
Herbalife Nutrition Foundation possible. Together, we are pleased to continue extending our ongoing support to our partners under the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program.”

“Providing grants to our partners is just one aspect of the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program. As we also recognise the importance of equipping children with the knowledge and skills to make positive lifestyle choices, we launched our Casa STAR Program in 2019, a comprehensive health and wellness initiative focusing on educating children about the importance of adopting healthy eating habits and maintaining an active lifestyle,” he added.

The 2023 Casa STAR Program saw the participation of 140 children from Good Samaritan Home, Hope Mission Welfare Society, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Amitabha Malaysia, and Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim / Miskin Rukaiyah. In addition to informative nutrition talks, interactive exercise workshops, and education on food label reading and ingredient selection, the children had the opportunity to put their knowledge to practical use by going on an educational grocery shopping trip.

Expressing their appreciation to be a beneficiary of the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program, Mr. Nick Lee, Honorary Secretary of Good Samaritan Home said, “The support we have been receiving through the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program since 2012 has allowed us to provide a nurturing environment to the children under our care.

The impact of this program extends beyond monetary value as it helps our children develop a strong foundation for a healthier future.” Also commenting, Dr. Abdul Rahman B Kurais, Chairman of Pusat Jagaan KanakKanak Yatim / Miskin Rukaiyah said, “We are deeply appreciative of this partnership as it contributes positively to our children. The Casa STAR Program, in particular, is a great initiative that allows the children to gain valuable knowledge in a memorable way and we are happy to see them getting excited about leading a healthy lifestyle.”

Representing Yayasan Chow Kit at the mock cheque ceremony, Ananti Rajasingam, Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are grateful to be part of the Casa Herbalife Nutrition Program. The generous grant provided will support our mission to address food insecurity among 150 children around the Chow Kit area. Beyond addressing the immediate needs of the children, the grant will also helps to create a more secure future for them.”
