During the initial stage of the MCO in March, I really needed a replacement box of Bausch & Lomb Soft Contact Lens which I have been using for years and I had to wait till the opticians were allowed to open before getting a new box. I forgot that I could have ordered one online like on Shopee. Last week, it suddenly occurred to me that I should have a look at the online prices and was astonished to find my regular contact lens were a lot cheaper online. Normally I pay RM49 for a box of 6 lens which lasts 3 months as these are monthly lens. On Shopee, I could get a box for RM34.15. I don’t know why I didn’t order them online long ago!
I ordered on Friday evening, asked the seller if that meant they would only ship next week after Merdeka. I informed the seller I needed it urgently and the seller replied that it depended on when the courier would pick up. To my surprise, the seller had prepared the order yesterday and shipped it out by yesterday evening. The courier has just delivered today (Sunday afternoon), all this in less than 48 hours after ordering plus it saved me around RM15. And this savings is before I have even redeemed my Shopee coins. It would have been below RM26 if I had redeemed my coins. This is one of the instances when online shopping is really worth it.
