Sime Darby Auto Selection (SDAS), Malaysia’s fastest-growing corporate multi-brand used car dealer under Sime Darby Motors, is introducing an Extended Warranty Programme for pre-owned BMW plug-in hybrid vehicles.
• Called +HYBRID, the programme in collaboration with Guard My Ride (GMR) and RHB Insurance, is the first in the market and only exclusive to SDAS +HYBRID is set to offer pre-owned BMW plug-in hybrid vehicle owners a peace of mind with comprehensive warranty coverage* for the following: Electrical Machine Electronics (EME)
• High-Voltage Battery Cell
• Integrated Motor Generator (Electric Motor)
• Battery Management Electronics (SME)
Every pre-owned unit of BMW plug-in hybrid vehicle retailed by SDAS will automatically come with this extended warranty. Customers who purchased a pre-owned BMW plug-in hybrid vehicle from any SDAS branch before the launch of +HYBRID may purchase this extended warranty plan coverage from SDAS’ 3S centre located at Lot 33, Glenmarie. +HYBRID is only available for BMW plug-in hybrid vehicles purchased from SDAS.
Vehicles with mileage of under 140,000km and less than 8 years are eligible for the program with up to RM15,000 per claim, on total aggregate of up to RM100,000 per year depending on the vehicle age and type.
SDAS General Manager Choong Chin Seong said the company aims to be a one-stop-centre for customers in the pre-owned vehicle market, catering to all their needs.
These needs, he added, include retail of good quality and thoroughly checked multi-brand pre-owned vehicles, service and repairs, as well as its latest Extended Warranty Programme, now made available for selected BMW Plug-in Hybrid vehicles.

This product is brought to customers through collaboration with SDAS’ partners GMR and RHB Insurance. GMR specialises in extended warranty services and will be the service provider for all the extended warranty claims and repair work, while RHB nsurance is the motor insurance and insurance underwriter provider.

- Only available as an add-on for cars with GMR Extended Warranty.
- Applicable for BMW 330e, BMW 530e, BMW 740Le, BMW X5 40e/45e.
- Applicable for cars not more than 8 years or 140,000 km mileage, whichever comes first.
- SDAS +HYBRID -warranty terms and conditions are as per SDAS’s existing warranty programme.
- There is a RM15,000 limit per claim, on total aggregate of up to RRM100,000.
- All pre-owned BMW plug-in hybrid must undergo pre-purchase inspection by SDAS.
- There is a 7 day and 500km cooling-off period from the extended warranty coverage starting date and mileage; claims can only be made after this period.
- The warranty covers 4 components namely Electrical Machine Electronics (EME), High-Voltage Battery Cell, Electric Motor and Battery Management Electronics (SME). It excludes programming and wiring.
