A few days ago, I had the pleasure of meeting perfumier extraordinaire, the beautiful & elegant Ms. Pissara Umavijani, Founder of niche fragrance brand, Parfums Dusita at Trove Starhill. Parfums Dusita was founded in 2016 by Pissara who had arrived in Paris from Thailand in 2011.
Born and raised in Bangkok, in a house filled with art and adorned with a beautiful garden, Pissara became fascinated with French perfumery from an early age. Those fragrances, combined with her father’s stories and poems about his voyages, made young Pissara dream of travelling to France one day.
Each and every one of Parfums Dusita’s fragrances are unique and unlike any other fragrances you might have come across. All Dusita perfumes are olfactory tributes to the poetry of the late Montri Umavijani, father of Pissara. In the Dusita universe, both poetry and perfume are ideal means of connecting with others; they stir the imagination, uplift the spirit, and appeal to the senses, as well as the intellect.
In total, 18 variations of Parfums Dusita are available at Trove. Pissra was in Kuala Lumpur to introduce Dusita’s latest fragrance, Pelagos. Pissara also introduced guests to some of the other Dusita fragranc.es. I sprayed on a few and they are all incredibly sublime and outstanding as there are so many layers to these fragrances.
For each fragrance she composes, Pissara also creates an illustration that captures the essence of the scent, as well of the poem that inspired it. The idea of Pelagos (Greek for “sea”) was born from Pissara’s deeply cherished memories of the Aegean Sea islands.
The black matte bottle reflects Parfums Dusita’s timeless elegance, and understated luxury, while offering maximal protection to the precious Extrait.

Dusita Parfums fragrances are for both genders and having smelt Pelagos, I am sure this will be another one of Dusita’s bestsellers. The ingredients that make up this wonderful fragrance are truly premium. Once you have tried Dusita’s fragranc,es you may never want to go back to other brands. Having met and spoken to Pissara, I can understand the love that goes into every one of Dusita’s fragrances. Pissara is talented both as a perfumier and as an artist.
