There’s nothing quite like a seafood buffet if you want to indulge your seafood cravings (we all crave for seafood from time to time!) and what better place to spend a few hours chowing down on a huge variety of seafood than The Mill Café at Grand Millennium Hotel. From now till 13 Dec 2014, you can partake of their Oceans 11 Seafood Buffet Dinner every Friday and Saturday.

As soon as you step into The Mill, you will see seafood everywhere cooked in many ways and being spoilt for choice is an understatement. The Mill has hauled in some of the finest in Neptune’s kingdom and the Seafood Buffet Dinner buffet features 11 types of freshest seafood and an international selection of main courses, appetisers, salads, soups and desserts.

The Seafood Buffet Dinner features an extensive menu with two mouth-watering menus in rotation. Tantalise your palate with succulent fresh oysters, rare treasured Alaska king crabs, slipper lobsters, yabbies, flower crabs, tiger prawns, scallops, mussels and clams, all of which are all fully stocked to the brim in a silver punch bowl. There is a wide array of appetising desserts to end your meal.

You can choose to have cold seafood from the silver punch bowls or choose the raw seafood and hand them over to be grilled. There are also seafood in curries and if you like, you can even have an entire Boston Lobster for an additional RM108++ per lobster. Prepared specially under the watchful eyes of award-winning Chef Laurent Lherisson and his team, diners may choose from any of the three lip-smacking preparations; Grilled with Butter, Served with Hollandaise sauce and Warm Potato Salad on the side, Poached and Served Cold, tossed in Chef’s special Cocktail Sauce, with mango and avocado or the classic Thermidor, tossed in a Cream Cheesy sauce, then Gratinated and served with white rice and green salad.

The seafood is very fresh and for the choices offered, I do think that it’s well worth the price. After all, you get your fill of expensive seafood. My favourites from the buffet are the cold seafoods like prawns and crabs. The jellyfish is very good too (I have three of those). I should also mention that the desserts are yummy especially the citrus mousse and mango pudding in the small cups.

Chef Amir is a very approachable and friendly chef. I spent some time chatting with him as he has vast experience in French and Spanish cuisine. If you spot him at The Mill, he’d be more than happy to share his wealth of knowledge.

The desserts are also my favourite part of this buffet! One has to be fast with the desserts here as they are so popular. By the time I went for the desserts, there was no Opera Cake left.
