Although I have known about Kombucha for some time, I tried the drink for the first time this week and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. As most of you probably know, Kombucha is a health drink that is gaining popularity here. Kombucha is fermented and slightly alcoholic, it has a mildly effervescent taste like a soft drink. Kombucha is brewed by fermenting sugared tea (Boocha has black and green tea) with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). Boocha has living probiotics which are said to have energizing, detoxifying and healing properties. The drink is refreshing and can get addictive as it tastes quite good.
