Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist

Alterna’s hair care products are rather interesting as they contain ingredients you don’t normally see in other brands such as Caviar, Seasilk, hemp, Bamboo and Kendi Oil. Their products are free of parabens, gluten, phthalates, mineral oil, paraffin, DEA, TEA, petrolatum & PABA.

Their Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist is a frizz-fighting, smoothing dry oil mist in a spray form which can be used as a treatment to strengthen, soften and repair the hair or as a style primer to achieve a silky, smooth texture. It’s best used on fine to medium hair types and is formulated for those with frizzy, unruly and umnanageable hair. Sounds like the ideal product for me since I have frizzy and wavy hair.

A lot of people use Argan Oil products on their hair but such products may have a greasy effect on hair. The Kendi Dry Oil Mist is a good alternative to Argan Oil products if you’re looking for a hair product that is not oily. This Dry Oil Mist utilises organic kendi oil from Sulawesi, source of essential fatty acids, omegas 3, 6 & 9 and organic bamboo extract rich in amino acids, sugars and minerals.

When do I use it? Any time is a good time as I use it after my shampoo and before blow drying since it protects hair from heat styling tools. I use it whenever my hair feels dry. It’s weightless and I can barely feel anything added to my hair, it seems to dry almost as soon as it’s spritzed on. I love the scent which is a fresh Katsura fragrance featuring green elements accented with sparkling citrus, lily, freesia, orchid, osmanthus, sheer musks & transparent woods.

It can be used as both a deeply nourishing treatment that helps to repair split ends and environmental damage, and as a color protecting style primer. To sum up, this is a Dry Oil Mist for everyone, whether you have coloured or non-coloured hair but it’s particularly good if you have hair as in need of hydration as mine. My hair looks more sleek after it’s been sprayed on and it makes it much easier to comb the tangles.

Available exclusively at Sephora at RM78/125ml.
