Skincare starter kits are my absolute favourite especially when I am unfamiliar with a brand. I am very familiar with Biotherm products for which I have a renewed interest after a bit of a hiatus. I was at their Robinson’s counter after my Aquasource Deep Serum Express Facial browsing when I spotted these starter kits. At first, I th0ught they were GWPs but when I asked the consultant, she said they were starter kits for sale.
So there are 4 starter kits altogether, all come in pouches of various colours. My favourite shade is the green (top left above). 3 of the kits contain a 20ml Aquasource Nuit (RM165/50ml) which is a generous size!
Other than the PUREFECT set, the rest are for dry skins and contain Aquasource products. Dry skins have different concerns, some need more hydration than others and while some people prefer their skin to look more luminous, others prefer more matte skin.
I wanted all of them. When you find out the price, you will know why. I walk the talk here. I can’t be raving about these sets and the price and not get one for myself, can I (despite having literally a mountain of skincare yet to be tested!)? I was vacillating terribly between the Deep Hydration and Skin Perfection set and finally decided on the latter because it’s the better value of the 2 – Skin Perfection cleanser, lotion and moisturizer are more expensive than the other range.
All this for just RM40. Unbelievable? I wouldn’t even have known about these starter kits if I hadn’t been nose-ing around the counter. If this isn’t incredible value, I don’t know what else is these days.
this is unbelievably cheap. do they limit the quantity each customer could buy? if it is not, this is definitely a good deal. buy 3 sets for the price of rm120 and it is equivalent to whole set of full-sized products. WOOT!
No limit at all. You can buy whatever they have at the counter. Yeah I know, the price is unbelievable. I might just go back & grab the other 2 hydration sets.

the beauty advisor said that the newest starter kit doesn’t come with the Aquasource Nuit. I showed her your blog and she said this is from 2 batches ago, old stock. 🙁
So the ones you saw don’t have the pouches like what you see in my post? Mine don’t have any manufacturing date. Maybe there are different sets at different counters.
yep. different pouches. only the purefect set range available. and the pouch is in green in colour. perhaps you are right. different sets at different counters.
My friend went to Jusco Queensbay yesterday and saw the same sets (as in my post) displayed in front of the counter. I presume you went to the Parkson Gurney counter? Okay, I just checked with Biotherm HO – the one I bought is indeed from Dec 2012 (not that old la) and the current kits have bigger sixe products like 50ml cleanser/125ml toner/50ml gel. It ranges from skin care, men’s care to body care as well. Personally, I think the older starter kit is better in terms of value and variety!

I just went to the Biotherm counter and bought the RM40-00 Purefect Starter Set. When I was at the counter, I was told that there are 2 other Biotherm Purefect sets available for RM162-00 and RM224-00 respectively. I tried out the Purefect samples last week and discovered that the Purefect range is perfect for my oily skin!
