Garden Recipe At Paradigm

One of the joys of visiting a new shopping mall is discovering a new F&B outlet. Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya has quite a few eateries which aren’t found at other malls I frequent. There were a fair number of diners at Garden Recipe last night so I had no hesitations about dining there.

The menu offers many healthy options which feature brown rice – there’s brown rice mee hoon, ramen and mee sua. Even the nasi lemak has brown rice in it. I was happy to see that they have mee hoon kueh or dough cake in black bean soup (RM13.90+) as I haven’t had this for a very long time. It’s relatively easy to make the dough since all one needs is flour, egg, salt, water and oil. Most of the soup base has anchovies and minced pork in it, among other ingredients.

There’s a generous helping of vegetables in this big bowl – carrots, mushrooms, leafy vegetables, seaweed, wolfberries. The soup is hearty, almost like a home-made soup. The mee hoon kueh didn’t disappoint as they don’t take much chewing and are not too thin nor too thick.

Then there’s the salmon fried rice which comes with carrot and pumpkin soup and a salad. I only had a small taste of the fried rice and it’s delicious. I wouldn’t mind ordering this one on my next visit but there are a number of items on the menu I’d also like to try.

They don’t charge government tax yet but there’s a 10% service charge & sky juice costs RM1+.
