Bruschetta, Macarons, Scones, Cake & Tea At The Yogitree

A few years ago, I attended an Origins workshop at The Gardens and The Yogitree catered the food and refreshments. I thought the food was quite good but my first visit to The Yogitree was last year. Since then I have been back twice, the third and last time with the dealmates voucher in hand. I purchased the deal because my RM15 credit was expiring and I didn’t know what else to spend it on.

This is what was supposed to be included in the deal:-

  • 1 Pesto Chicken Bruschetta (3 pieces)
  • 1 Grilled Vegetables Caramelized Onion Bruschetta (3 pieces)
  • 2 Raisin Scones
  • 2 Macarons in random flavours
  • A Slice of Cake of your choice
  • 2 Cups of Tea of your choice

When I presented the voucher to the waitress, I wasn’t asked what tea we’d like. 2 cups of standard tea were brought to the table, they’re refillable. Service was prompt but then why shouldn’t it be when there was only one other table occupied. I knew better than to go there on a weekend.

The 2 platters containing the bruschetta, macarons and scones arrived shortly after the tea or was it at the same time. Anyway, I wasn’t impressed with the bruschetta as the bread was too soft, it lacked crunch as if it wasn’t that fresh. The taste of the pesto chicken was better than the grilled vegetables.

Scones were so-so, not fabulous and the macarons were too sweet but that’s just me…..I don’t have a sweet tooth. I chose pineapple upside-down cake, there weren’t that many choices. It was okay but again, nothing memorable even with the scoop of ice cream.

Just as well I got a RM15 credit for this deal because I don’t think it was worth RM28. My first 2 visits to The Yogitree were a lot more satisfying than this. I am beginning to think that food tastes a lot better when ordered from the menu rather than if I present these deal vouchers.
