We Need More Bridges Like This In KL

p10902422

Our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak officially opened the Bukit Bintang-KLCC Pedestrian Walkway a few days ago and being curious, I just had to check it out. I wanted to see how long it’d take to walk from Pavilion to KLCC.

It’s about time we had such a walkway in the city centre as Bangkok has had such walkways ages ago, especially impressive is the one linking Siam Paragon to other shopping malls and skytrain stations. Our new walkway is fully air-conditioned and 562 metres long.

I started my walk from Pavilion, previously the bridge only gave access to the opposite side of Jalan Raja Chulan where Wisma Cosway is situated but now pedestrians can exit at various points along Jalan Pinang and Jalan Perak where a lot of offices are.

It was a very pleasant 10 minute walk to KLCC. For now, the bridge looks clean and there are security guards at various points along the walkway but let’s hope it remains that way. I can now park at Fahrenheit 88 where all day parking on weekends and public holidays is RM5 and roam around Bukit Bintang area and KLCC.

Hopefully, there will be more pedestrian walkways like this around Kuala Lumpur as it’s very convenient and will definitely benefit the malls around Bukit Bintang and KLCC.

  1. Novotel Hotel (you can see from the bridge-directly opposite Wisma Cosway) also has RM 5 per day parkings on weekends.
