Hock Kee Kopitiam, a homegrown Malaysian kopitiam brand rooted in the spirit of Muhibbah, dedicated to preserving and celebrating Malaysia’s rich food heritage, has partnered with Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, a five-star hotel in the heart of Bukit Bintang and a recipient of the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2025, to connect hotel guests with the flavours of a Malaysian kopitiam. Under the first phase,
Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur will introduce its guests to Hock Kee Kopitiam, where they can enjoy a 10% dining privilege at all Hock Kee outlets.
Beyond the initial dining privilege, Hock Kee Kopitiam and Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur are exploring the possibility of introducing a jointly curated package for hotel guests, as well as bringing selected Hock Kee favourites, such as its signature laksa, into the hotel’s dining experience. Potential initiatives may also extend to cross-brand promotions, joint marketing campaigns and tourism-related activations that connect travellers with Malaysian food and culture. These collaborations will be introduced progressively as the partnership develops.

With both Hock Kee Kopitiam and Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur located in Bukit Bintang, one of Kuala Lumpur’s key tourism districts, the partnership is well-positioned to introduce Malaysia’s rich food heritage and kopitiam culture to a wider international audience. As a hotel welcoming guests from around the world, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur provides an ideal platform to connect more visitors with authentic Malaysian flavours. As Visit Malaysia 2026 extends into 2027, the collaboration aims to enrich the visitor experience beyond accommodation and sightseeing, recognising food as an important gateway for travellers to discover Malaysia’s culture, heritage and people.
YBrs Mr. Mohd Akbal Setia, Deputy Director General (Promotions) and Head of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 Secretariat, Tourism Malaysia, said, “Malaysia welcomed 28.8 million international visitors from January to August 2026, reflecting continued interest in our country as a travel destination. As we build on this momentum through Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, our focus is not only on attracting more visitors, but also on encouraging them to experience what makes Malaysia unique. Food is an important part of that experience, and our kopitiam culture reflects the diversity, warmth and togetherness of Malaysian society. We welcome collaborations such as this between Hock Kee Kopitiam and Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, which help bring our local culinary heritage closer to international visitors.”
Mr. Nick Ng, Founder of Hock Kee Kopitiam, said, “As a Strategic Partner of Visit Malaysia 2026-2027, we are committed to making Malaysian flavours and kopitiam culture more accessible to visitors. This partnership allows us to bring the Hock Kee experience beyond our own outlets and into more touchpoints along a traveller’s journey. We hope to work with Grand Millennium to make Malaysian food part of how visitors experience and remember Malaysia.“
Mr. Jim Khoo, General Manager of Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, commented, “Being in the heart of Bukit Bintang allows us to connect our local and international guests with the city’s vibrant culture, flavours and stories. Through this partnership, we aim to create a more meaningful guest experience that extends beyond our hotel, while promoting Malaysia’s rich heritage and celebrating the traditions that define our local culture. Ultimately, we want our guests to take home not just memories of their stay, but also a deeper appreciation of KualacLumpur and the people, culture and flavours that make Malaysia unique. As we move towards Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, we look forward to exploring more opportunities for both brands to showcase Malaysia’s rich heritage and position the country as a welcoming and
memorable destination.”

The partnership marks the beginning of a longer-term collaboration between Hock Kee Kopitiam and Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, bringing together their respective strengths in dining and hospitality as Malaysia prepares to welcome more visitors for Visit Malaysia 2026-2027. Both parties will continue to develop new collaborations and guest offerings under the partnership, with further initiatives to be introduced progressively.
