Lamb Weston was founded over 70 years ago. What are some of Lamb Weston’s innovations since
then?

For more than 75 years, innovation has been at the heart of our product development. Our journey began with founder Gilbert Lamb, who pioneered the Water Gun Knife, a breakthrough technology that uses high-velocity water to cut potatoes with precision. This revolutionary method transformed the industry, setting a global standard for potato processing and laying the foundation for the wide range of innovative potato products we offer today.

Building on this legacy of innovation, we continue to introduce exciting new fry cuts that elevate the way consumers enjoy fries. Ziggy™ features a bold zig-zag design with deeper grooves that deliver an even bigger crunch. Our iconic Twister™, with its playful curly shape, remains a long-time favourite among Malaysians. Meanwhile, Potato Dippers™ offer a scoop-shaped cut designed to hold more sauces, making every bite more flavourful and satisfying.

Together, these innovations reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering creative, high-quality potato experiences that delight consumers and inspire menus across the region.

What is unique about Lamb Weston products compared to its competitors?

Our retail range of fries is powered by our proprietary Stealth™ batter technology — a light, transparent coating that keeps fries crispy up to twice as long as uncoated fries. Designed for convenience, the fries can be easily prepared in an air fryer or oven, allowing consumers to enjoy consistent, restaurant-quality crispiness from the comfort of home.

Further strengthening our commitment to meeting evolving consumer needs, our newly launched retail products are halal-certified, vegan, and gluten-free. This ensures that more consumers can enjoy great-tasting fries, while catering to a variety of dietary preferences and lifestyles without compromising on flavour or texture.

Across the world, who are some of Lamb Weston’s biggest customers?

As a global potato solutions company, Lamb Weston partners with a wide range of customers, including major quick-service restaurant chains, foodservice operators, and retailers across more than 100 markets. Due to confidentiality agreements, we don’t typically name specific customers, but our products are enjoyed by millions of consumers every day.

How does Lamb Weston ensure uniform and consistent quality when the potatoes are grown and
processed in different countries?

Lamb Weston maintains consistent quality globally through strict production standards, close partnerships with farmers, and advanced processing technology. We carefully select potato varieties
suited for our products and work closely with growers to ensure optimal farming practices. Across all our facilities worldwide, we apply the same rigorous quality controls and standardized processes. This ensures that no matter where our potatoes are grown or processed, customers and consumers can expect the same great taste, texture, and quality that Lamb Weston is known for.

With the introduction of Lamb Weston fries consumers can prepare at home in Malaysia, can we expect the same quality as Lamb Weston fries prepared in restaurants and what technology is used to ensure they are as crispy?

Our retail fries are designed for how consumers cook at home today, particularly with the growing use of ovens and air fryers in markets like Malaysia. Our proprietary Stealth™ batter, an invisible coating Lamb Weston Proprietary that keeps fries crispy up to twice as long as uncoated fries, helps deliver consistent, restaurant-quality crispiness at home.

The range also offers a variety of cuts suited for different eating occasions. Rustic Fries, Potato Dippers™ and Grill Fries are especially appealing for Southeast Asian consumers who enjoy bold flavours, sauces, and sharing formats. Meanwhile, seasoned options packed with bold flavours such as Waffle Fries, Twister™ Fries and Ziggy™ Fries provide familiar, versatile choices that pair well with both Western and Asian dishes.

Are the Lamb Weston Fries variations for home consumption in Malaysia different from other
countries?

While the core quality and technology behind Lamb Weston fries are consistent globally, the product range and cuts are tailored to local consumer preferences. In Malaysia, for example, we offer six styles including Rustic, Potato Dippers™, Grill Fries, Seasoned Twister™, Seasoned Ziggy™, and Seasoned Waffle Fries crafted to cater to Southeast Asian tastes for bold flavours, sauces, and playful shapes that appeal to a variety of consumers.

Where are Lamb Weston products available in Malaysia and are there plans to expand its availability
for home consumers?

In Malaysia, our range has been available in leading modern grocery chains since January 2026, marking the first step in a broader rollout. Consumers can find Lamb Weston fries at Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer, The Food Merchant, AEON, Jaya Grocer, De Market, and QRA outlets. Looking ahead, Malaysia is a key part of Lamb Weston’s Southeast Asia retail expansion. Singapore served as the region’s first retail entry and a “launchpad for wider Asia,” with plans to introduce a targeted retail range across additional markets. Malaysia is a natural next step, and as awareness and demand grow, we plan to continue expanding availability so more households can enjoy Lamb Weston fries at home.

Which are the top 3 variations most popular globally?

While popularity can vary by market, Lamb Weston’s fries have consistently resonated with consumers worldwide through a combination of classic favourites and versatile cuts. Locally, our studies have revealed that Waffle Fries and Twister™ Fries are among our popular fry cut styles known for their distinctive shapes and consistent restaurant-quality crispiness. These variations showcase our commitment to delivering both taste and texture that appeal across different cuisines and consumer preferences.
