Ichiriki The Gardens

This is my 2nd visit to Ichiriki The Gardens and the menu looks a bit different from my 1st visit. I like this restaurant for the ambiance (very quiet and Zen-like), service (fast, efficient and always with a smile) and food (overall very satisfactory). Good restaurant to meet someone for an intimate chat and you can linger on without worrying that someone is waiting for your table.

Cabbage soup with generous slices of lean and fatty pork. I had a few bowls.

10 pieces of gyoza for RM16, that’s quite reasonable. The gyoza all stick together, I wish they didn’t as I have to separate them each time. It’s also not as crispy as I would have liked them to be but the filling is okay.

Grilled baby octopus on hot plate, I didn’t partake of this as I have an aversion to anything with tentacles.

crispy
My favourite Ichiriki salad is crispy salmon skin & soft shell crab. Nicely presented with the salad dressing in a champagne glass. I could have this salad all to myself, the crispy salmon skin makes all the difference to an otherwise average salad.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi set @ RM28. Didn’t really like the chicken teriyaki, too much sauce. This is a very filling and complete set as there’s also salad, chawan mushi and kimchi.
