Muse By Watsons

There’s a new beauty one-stop shop in town and it’s sure going to appeal to all the girls with its spaciousness and long dressing table full of all things beautiful and cute. muse by Watsons brings you familiar brands as well as brands which have never before made their way here.

A few days ago, I was given a tour of the shop ahead of their official opening tomorrow. Although muse is managed by Watsons, it’s different in every way from our perception of Watsons. It’s kind of like Sasa Selective, only Sasa Selective still reminds me that I am in a Sasa outlet as there are still products at Sasa Selective which are available at Sasa. You won’t find any products at muse by watsons at any Watsons outlets.

What I liked most about muse by watsons as soon as I entered the shop is the feeling of spaciousness. Although I could see they didn’t lack for products, the aisles were wide and I felt like I could even dance around without worrying about knocking into any products.

While you can find familiar favourites like Burt’s Bees, Kanebo, Yves Rocher and selected fragrances, you will see many brands which (while very well known in their countries of origin) we are not familiar with so let’s check them out!

Doesn’t Dirty Works remind you of a particular brand found at Sephora? That was my first impression when I saw Dirty Works’ products which have a lot of bodycare but they also have make-up brushes and accessories. In terms of skincare, muse sells just the Face Mask which is for hydration.

I love… products are colourful. There are so many bath and body products to choose from. They make really good gifts and prices are reasonable.

Maskingdom sheet masks from Taiwan are gorgeous as they have different illustration of women from ancient costumes to modern era on each mask. They are RM16.90 but I am told they are actually more expensive in Taiwan (more than RM30 each). They double up as postcards as you can use the reverse side to write the address of the person you want to send it to.

How cool is this? There’s a nail bar where you can have an express manicure for just RM20.

Cremorlab products are from South Korea and they focus on hydration. They describe their products as being rich in minerals including a high concentration of vanadium and germanium. The products contain no paraben, mineral oil, petrolatum or artificial colouring. The key ingredient in their products is thermal water from Geumjin.

Bio2You products are made in Italy and the key ingredient here is biological sea buckthorn. Check out their organic self tan (RM88) which is enriched with Vitamin E, organic seabuckthorn, aloe vera, walnut, carrot and sunflower oils. It is a revolutionary natural self tan – ideal for getting a healthy, natural-looking tan without harmful sun exposure.

Indeed is a skincare brand from Canada. Nanoblur is for improving skin tone, correcting the appearance of lines, wrinkles and crows’ feet, reducing redness, minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores, smoothing and mattifying skin. Snoxin is a concentrated multi-peptide treatment to target the appearance of dynamic and static lines, wrinkles, sagginess, and textural damage.

muse has such a smashing dressing table. It has everything a girl wants on it. In fact, I wish I had a miniature version of this table in my room. It’d make a much nicer setting and background for my product pictures. Hmmmm…..time to redecorate perhaps?
