Fantabulous Bare Escentuals Prime Time Primer Shadows

If someone were to ask me what the best eye shadows of 2011 are, I wouldn’t hesitate to say Bare Escentuals Prime Time Primer Shadows. These teeny-weeny tubes of cream shadows are all I need for fuss-free, quick and arresting eye make-up.

They double up as eye shadow primer and eye shadow. Colours are intense enough on their own but if I have time, I like to add powder eye shadows over them as they really help to build up colour of the powder shadows.

Each primer shadow is rich and metallic, gorgeously pigmented and the best thing about them is they are seriously waterproof. I’ve worn them from dawn to beyond dusk and they stay put without any fading or creasing.

They have slanted tips which are designed to dispense the tiniest amount. The tips can get quite messy but a simple wipe with tissue will clean it up. You can choose to apply them with fingertips or brush. Personally, I prefer using my fingertips, it’s much faster and I don’t need to clean the brush.

The 6 shades available are:-

L to R – Urban Nature, Racing Green, Sundance, Bronzed Twig, Gunmetal, Chroma Violet

1) Urban Nature – muddy brown

2) Racing Green – bright emerald green

3) Sundance – peach

4) Bronzed Twig – chocolate brown

5) Gunmetal – silver pewter

6) Chroma Violet – plum purple

I’m wearing only the Prime Time Primer Shadows in the pics on the left while the pics on the right show the Primer Shadows with a similar shade of powder eye shadow. The 1st set shows the Gunmetal Primer Shadow (which happens to be my favourite shade of Primer Shadow) and Gunmetal + The Body Shop 45 eye colour:-

The 2nd set shows Racing Green Primer Shadow and Racing Green paired with Clarins 23 Silver Green mono colour:-

The 3rd set shows  Bronzed Twig Primer Shadow and Bronzed Twig paired with MAC’s Woodwinked (I love the metallicness of this combination, Bronzed Twig is the perfect base for Woodwinked and enhances the depth of this colour):-

Thumbs up for ease of application and long-wearing properties. They are so concentrated that you need just a smidgen. Try them and you’ll know what I mean. They are the best cream eye shadows I’ve seen and tried so far.

What’s not to like? Well, the price can be considered on the steep side as they are RM75 each for 3ml and so that works out to RM25 per 1ml! Quite ouch-inducing but are they worth it? You bet they are! I would purchase Gunmetal as I just love the colour.
