Rochelle Jacobs-Silpe joined Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care in 1999, following an appeal from her mother, the company’s co-founder and President, June Jacobs. With a strong background in finance and management, Rochelle’s initial charge was to manage the day-to-day operations and assist with the growing pains that accompanied the company’s meteoric expansion. Her first – and biggest – challenge was to introduce technology to a business that, like much of the skin care and spa industry at that time, had a traditional way of getting things done. Shortly after assuming her post Rochelle introduced email, created an attractive website, and implemented state-of-the art enterprise systems and controls.

Over the past seven years with Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care, Rochelle has been instrumental in motivating all of the constituents, from the staff to suppliers and customers, to make better use of all available technology for maximum efficiency. In an effort to manage organic growth, Rochelle has brought her expertise into all aspects of operations. Her direction has led to improved customer service and customer feedback mechanisms, greater quality control, enhanced communications between employees and suppliers, and continued technological advancements resulting in more efficient inventory management and distribution.

Following an initial focus solely on Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care, Rochelle quickly became intimately involved with the development and introduction of the company’s second line, June Jacobs Spa Collection. From letterhead to the launch, Rochelle oversaw the creation of the unique and elegant line which features advanced formulations of more than 100 products to meet the needs of any skin type or condition. June Jacobs Spa Collection is yet another building block in a company that has taken the industry by storm and continues to impress customers, retailers, and the competition.

Rochelle boasts significant experience working for large and well-known organizations. She began her career at Lehman Brothers, where she worked on both the Equity Syndicate and Institutional Sales Desks. She left Lehman Brothers to work directly with senior management of Viacom, the international media company which, at the time, owned Paramount, Blockbuster, CBS, Showtime, MTV, and other entertainment entities. Rochelle was quickly promoted to manager, the youngest at the time, and was responsible for managing Viacom’s Pension Fund Investments and 401(k), as well as the company’s global currency positions. After a successful three year run Rochelle was armed with the necessary tools to succeed in managing the operations for Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care and June Jacobs Spa Collection.

In addition to operating two successful beauty brands, Rochelle has been active on the board for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Junior Board since 1998. In both 2006 and 2007 she served on the benefit committee for the 92nd Street Y Nursery School Annual Benefit. She will co-chair the 2007 Fall Benefit for the Fresh Air Foundation, which provides free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million children from New York City’s toughest neighborhoods. Born and raised in New York City, Rochelle – together with her husband and two young boys Jake and Luke – continues to make New York home.

This is my Q & A session with the lovely and friendly Rochelle when she launched the June Jacobs Spa Collection in November 2014.

What’s the story behind June Jacobs Spa Collection?

My mum, June Jacobs had been working in dermatologist offices before she started Peter Thomas Roth. There were no luxury or chemical products for brightening skin in those days. She started Peter Thomas Roth in 1993 and I joined the company in 1999. Once we had PTR under control, we looked at a natural version that was just as efficacious as what PTR offered. We spent a few years working on the formulation of the June Jacobs Spa Collection and came up with products that made a real difference.

Why are the June Jacobs products available only in spas?

My mum believed that customers should se and feel the products for the 1st time during a facial and because of the personal touch, they will be impressed by what June Jacobs Spa Collection has.

What June Jacobs Spa Collection ranges are the most popular in Asia and Europe/USA?
