Kiehl’s Ultimate White Surface Brightening Exfoliator

The first time I purchased Kiehl’s Ultimate White Surface Brightening Exfoliator was way back in December 2009. Some products, I can remember very clearly when I bought them for the first time. Maybe it’s because at the end of every year, I usually make some significant purchases. I’d tried the product on the back of my hand before purchasing and immediately liked the scent, texture and overall feel of the scrub.

I haven’t repurchased but it isn’t because I don’t like the product. In fact, it is probably one of Kiehl’s better products. I still have some samples sachets which I use from time to time. The Surface Brightening Exfoliator is like a thick paste and I just add a few drops of water once I have applied it to  my damp skin.

The Surface Brightening Exfoliator promises to:-

  • Dramatically improve surface texture irregularities
  • Boost cell turnover
  • Provide a brighter skin appearance

The product was specially developed to meet the needs of Asian skin and promotes a smoother, brighter skin surface. It’s formulated with micronized polyethylene beads to improve surface texture by removing irregularities to skin, promoting a smoother, brighter skin surface.

The granules are tiny and once a little water has been added to it, it doesn’t feel harsh on my skin. It just feels really smooth and pampering. Afterwards, my skin feels so soft as if I’ve just had a facial. I love this product but unfortunately, this isn’t one of the brands I want to pay retail for (any more). Product retails at RM110 for a 150ml tube.

  1. Hey!

I’ve actually tested this product in-store fairly recently and I liked the texture and feel.
Would you recommend this exfoliator though?
I’m rather skeptical about buying a tube to use now that you say this brand isn’t worth paying retail for.
    Why’s that?

On another note, I don’t know if I have said this before but I really enjoy reading your reviews.
In my opinion, your reviews are objective and do not favour the product/brand unless it’s really efficient.
Keep up the good work, babe! 🙂

    Cheers!

    • Yes, I would recommend the Clearly Corrective Skin Brightening Exfoliator because it has a nicer scent than its predecessor (Ultimate White) and this new version is also not as thick, in other words much more easier to apply on skin. For the improvements to the formula, the price difference is just RM5 (previously it was RM110, now RM115). At the time I did the review, I had personal reasons for not paying retail but things have changed and now I would. The 1st product I’d get is the Exfoliator because it will give skin a good polish which makes your other skincare absorb faster. Thanks for your support, I appreciate it so much, always nice to hear from readers. If you have any more questions about other products, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

  2. That’s great, thanks!
When I tested it, I felt it was a pretty decent product too and I’ve been looking to try other exfoliators available in the market but I also look around for product reviews and whatnot before I make my purchase. 🙂

    No worries, I definitely will!
    Thanks again!
